In the event that anyone noticed my recent absence from seemingly all internet-based activities, such individuals' perception is indeed accurate. I have, for quite some months now, been inactive in all internet-based diversions. Most days I don't even turn my computer on anymore; on the occasion that I do, it has most frequently been to examine universities that I have been considering attending. For I am in eleventh grade, and I have for years now been investigating potential universities to attend after high school. I've whittled my prospective universities down to six choices (which does not include the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where I plan to spend either a semester or a full year on an exchange program), and I plan to continue learning about them to determine whether or not I ought to attend them. Given that, I currently attend a public high school in one of the rare parts of the United States wherein the public schools actually surpass all private schools in the quality of their academic programs; as such, my free time asymptotically approaches nil. Last year I was particularly remonstrative about AP European History; this year, AP Chemistry and Spanish 11 Honors, among other classes, are pounding me with what amounts to as many as seven hours of homework every night. Some internet users have leisure time every day; I'm content with not being as free, but succeeding in school is my highest priority at the moment for a number of reasons.

Notwithstanding, I do not entirely lack a periodic reprieve; typically Friday afternoons are a time when I get to just recline on my bed and either read or play video games. Furthermore, whenever I can, I participate in a local community service club. As I believe I have iterated before, I have a number of interests, and activities associated with the internet are buried beneath my passions for literature and science fiction, my affinity for video games, as well as finding time to go running three and a half miles thrice weekly so as to maintain proper physical fitness. I write stories and otherwise use the internet for entertainment when I have time and when I feel like it, and those two prerequisites so rarely coincide.
